In Zambia today, HIV/AIDS is the #1 cause of premature death, yet nearly 60% of youth lack the comprehensive knowledge they need to protect themselves from HIV.

We aim to change this.

HIV is as real today as it was ten years ago. It may not be a death sentence anymore, but it is a life sentence. Let’s end the stigma and tame the spread of HIV.

The UkaniManje Difference

UkaniManje supports top Zambian artists as ambassadors, creators, and change agents. The intention is to flood the soundscape with songs that resonate with the fans of each artist and increase awareness about HIV. Each of the UkaniManje artists has been trained in public health messaging, comprehensive and current HIV information, and behavior change theory by our team of public health experts.

Who We Impact

Through radio, social media and other outreach activities we engage youth across Zambia in important conversations about their health.

Prevention is the intervention.

The time is now.

The World Health Organization and UNAIDS predict that disruptions from COVID-19 could result in a 10-year setback in global HIV prevention and treatment efforts. Accurate health information is more important now than ever. We must act with urgency to change health outcomes for this generation of Zambian youth.
